FAQ and travel guide
Answers to the questions travellers ask us most, and practical tips to get ready for a pilgrimage or a holiday.
Booking and payments
Do I pay anything to enquire?
No. Enquiring and getting a plan are free. You pay an advance only after you have the full plan and price in writing and have decided to book.
Are the prices on the website final?
They are starting prices for the listed hotel category and twin sharing. Your exact price depends on your dates, group size and hotels, and is confirmed in writing before you pay.
How do I pay?
By UPI, bank transfer or at our office. You get a written confirmation for every payment.
Can you change a package to suit us?
Yes. Dates, number of days, hotel category, pickup city and the places you visit can all be changed.
What if we need to cancel?
The cancellation policy on our website explains what is refunded and when. Your planner also tells you the terms for your hotels and transport before you book.
On the trip
Do you plan trips for elderly parents?
Yes. We plan the pace, darshan timings, hotel location and transport with elders in mind, and can arrange a wheelchair, palki or pony where they are available.
Who do we call during the trip?
Your planner, on the same WhatsApp number. We stay in touch with your driver and hotels and sort out changes on the way.
Is food included?
It depends on the package. Each package page lists exactly what is included, and your written plan says it again.
Getting ready: a short travel guide
Documents
- Carry a government photo ID for every traveller, including children. Hotels and many temples ask for it.
- For Char Dham, every pilgrim must register with the Uttarakhand government before the yatra. Ask us if you need help with it.
Packing
- Comfortable walking shoes that slip off easily for temples.
- A light shawl or jacket even in summer for early mornings, and warm layers for the hills.
- Your regular medicines, with a little extra, and a small first-aid kit.
Health in the hills
- Kedarnath, Badrinath and other high places are cold and thin on air. Walk slowly, drink water and rest well the night before a climb.
- Travellers with heart, blood pressure or breathing conditions should check with their doctor before a high-altitude trip.
Temples and darshan
- Wear modest clothes. Leather items and phones are not allowed inside some temples; lockers are usually available outside.
- Darshan queues are longest on festivals and weekends. Tell us your dates and we suggest the best timings.
Best time to go
- Varanasi, Ayodhya and Prayagraj: October to March is the most comfortable. Summers are very hot.
- Char Dham: the temples open around April-May and close around October-November. May-June and September-October are the usual seasons; the monsoon months bring landslide risk.
- Nepal: October-November and March-April have the clearest skies.
Dates change every year, so ask us before you plan.
